The Lord is good.
Inspite of having a lot to do today, particularly preparing for a party for about 20 tonight - don't know where we're going to put them all - He has helped me resist the enemy. Several things went wrong, like the telephone apparently giving up the ghost, the car wouldn't start - just as we had to go off to buy drinks, and a couple of other small things which annoyed my dearest were threatening to destroy our peace. So in the midst of it, we prayed and resisted the devil and shortly afterwards the telephone worked again - (all we did was take the batteries out and put them back in again), the car started immediately (father-in-law came down to trickle-charge the battery, and the engine started immediately - and is still working inspite of having several stops since then... The other niggly things have cleared themselves up and 'peace has come!' (Adrian Plass).
Singing in tongues also really helps.

There are few friends on the Way to freedom; most people would rather endure comfortable bondage in the arms of the System in the wide valley far below than experience the danger liberty offers. There, on the narrow path on the mountain it just keeps getting narrower until we have ditched every burden that drags us back and spend more time crawling on our knees than we do walking.
