10 Mile Run

My son managed the 10 Mile Run course in 1 hour, 41 minutes and 12 seconds, coming 44th out of 118 pupils. And apart from the first girl over the line, who is a national runner for Britain, he beat all the girls, which was jolly important, of course. ;) He knocked another 14 minutes off his last time. And he managed it while suffering from the internal 'runs' as well, which meant that he was severely put to the test. Imagine if he hadn't been in such discomfort, he could have been even faster. That morning, the headmaster spoke about Eric Liddell in chapel assembly and said that he hadn't looked to his own strength, but God's. He said that he took this to heart and thanked the Lord for his strength all the way through.
