Isaiah 53:8-10: My Name is Yeshua

Many thanks to Mark Biltz http://www.elshaddaiministries.us/ for this Hebrew gem. I received the El Shaddai newsletter this morning by e-mail and saw the latest Hebrew word study he had done in Isaiah 53:8-10. He had put the text into a grid - one letter per square - and showed how the Hebrew words, 'Yeshua my name is' can be seen by reading each particular letter upwards. I've shown how he did it below. The translation I used was from http://www.mechon-mamre.org/p/pt/pt1053.htm and they have three more letters than the grid which Mark uses does, but I think that this is a matter of the particular Hebrew translation used. The words in question turn up just the same.
It took me a long time to work out each word and put each letter into the grid. I coloured each word in to make sure I got exactly the right number of letters. Regretfully, I know very little Hebrew.  It reminded me just how much work the scribes had to painstakingly transcribe each letter by hand. They would use a system of counting letters from the end and the beginning to make certain that they had got it right. One single error meant that they would throw the whole thing away and start again.

Anyway, I even got the same result by putting the English text into Google translator, (see below). This really chuffed me. Isn't it amazing that this should be evident in the Hebrew text? I've always been suspicious of the Bible code idea, but I think that this shows the divine inspiration of the text in its original language.
ח מֵעֹצֶר וּמִמִּשְׁפָּט לֻקָּח, וְאֶת-דּוֹרוֹ מִי יְשׂוֹחֵחַ: כִּי נִגְזַר מֵאֶרֶץ חַיִּים, מִפֶּשַׁע עַמִּי נֶגַע לָמוֹ.
8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away, and with his generation who did reason? for he was cut off out of the land of the living, for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due.
ט וַיִּתֵּן אֶת-רְשָׁעִים קִבְרוֹ, וְאֶת-עָשִׁיר בְּמֹתָיו; עַל לֹא-חָמָס עָשָׂה, וְלֹא מִרְמָה בְּפִיו.
9 And they made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich his tomb; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.'
י וַיהוָה חָפֵץ דַּכְּאוֹ, הֶחֱלִי--אִם-תָּשִׂים אָשָׁם נַפְשׁוֹ, יִרְאֶה זֶרַע יַאֲרִיךְ יָמִים; וְחֵפֶץ יְהוָה, בְּיָדוֹ יִצְלָח.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to crush him by disease; to see if his soul would offer itself in restitution, that he might see his seed, prolong his days, and that the purpose of the LORD might prosper by his hand:

Isn't this wonderful? It reminds me of this article http://www.yeshuahamashiach.org/Kaduri_names_Messiah.htm  which I read some years ago now. The rabbis are so immersed in the Hebrew scriptures (assuming they're not steeped in Kabbala or the Zohar) that this kind of thing must be fairly easy to see. (Incidentally, as of October 2011, Ariel Sharon is still in a permanent vegetative state although when awake, he can respond at times by moving his fingers, and watches television. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariel_Sharon)

UPDATE: Sharon died on 11 Jan 2014.
No wonder Isaiah 53 is forbidden to be read in synagogues and is not included in the readings for the Jewish year. Tragic! This really needs to be shared sensitively with every son and daughter of Abraham we know.
Apologies for the letters in the grid being out of alignment - blogger has slightly altered what I originally had in Word.
